Sora 2 — OpenAI's text-to-video model

Access to Sora 2 is closed — here is what to use instead: Grom TV and Flux 3 come closest in style. Video generation from a description, straight in the browser.

Update, August 2026. OpenAI has closed access to Sora 2 — generation on it no longer works anywhere, GPTunneL included. The closest replacement is Flux 3: very close to Sora in the look of the picture. Our own option is Grom TV.

What Sora 2 was

Sora 2 was OpenAI's text-to-video model and one of the big breakthroughs in AI video. It made clips of up to 20 seconds at 1080p/720p from a description: complex scenarios with detail, realistic physics and animation with synchronised sound.

  • Text-to-video generation in 16:9 or 9:16
  • Fast processing

How Sora 2 worked in GPTunneL Creative Lab

/01

Step 1: Open GPTunneL Creative Lab

Open GPTunneL and pick Sora 2.

/02

Step 2: Write the description of the video

Describe the scene, the action, the style, the physics and the sound in detail. The model understood long, multi-part descriptions, including synchronised sound and realistic movement.

Step 3: Take the result

In two or three minutes you had a clip at 1080p/720p. You could pick the quality (1080p or 720p) and download the finished file straight away.

What Sora 2 was remembered for

No workarounds needed

Running the video generator needed no proxies, extensions or detours — it all happened in the browser. The rest of the GPTunneL video models work the same way.

A new generation of model

Built for anyone after high quality with synchronised sound and flexible settings.

Simple, fast start

Generating video from a prompt needed no installation, setup or training.

Safe by design

The model was tuned for safe use without infringing copyright, filtering prompts to screen out potentially harmful or prohibited requests.

Where Sora 2 was used

Text-to-video generation is already used across a range of jobs where saving time and staying flexible matter most.

Advertising clips

Useful for marketers who need a video ad prototype quickly, with realistic physics.

Concept video and animation

Helps directors and artists put together a storyboard with synchronised sound.

Video posts for social media

Creators turn text into video for stories and short posts in 9:16, with no long edit.

Education and science

Teachers illustrate historical or scientific ideas with realistic movement, without a video studio.

What to use instead of Sora 2

Flux 3 is the closest replacement: the same cinematic look and realistic motion, and prompts can stay much as they were for Sora. It is available in GPTunneL, billed per second of generation.

If you want a different feel, look at Grom TV — our own video model — or the video model catalog: Kling, Veo, Wan and others.

Examples from the model

These clips were generated in Sora 2 from ordinary text descriptions. An online video generator lets anyone get a realistic result with synchronised sound and physics, without special skills.
